New Year, New Stories
Ages 6-10
Storycamp has put on another costume and found new ways to bring stories to life. Join us this January as we continue to make magic happen all over the country. Once again we are working with The Historic Ute Theatre to create unique online programming that encourages connection and collaboration. We will be delving deep into the dark of winter to find and perform stories that warm and inspire us. Come play games, build puppets, share stories, and work together in this new creative space to make art.
Our winter camp, New Year, New Stories will meet for 1-2 hours each morning starting at 10am, Monday-Friday, January 4-8, 2021. We will invent characters, make puppets, play improv games, and use the theater of our zoom rectangles to create an original story. As with our other camps, at the end of the week we will have an opportunity to invite friends and family for a zoom performance.
Materials:

fabric - soft material (old sweater, fleece, pajamas)
hot glue
flare - buttons, googly eyes, pom poms, craft fur, jewels
scissors
batting/ stuffing
cardboard

Parental Supervision?
Not necessary every day, but recommended for hot glue gun projects (puppet-making). Also depends on parents' comfort with children using face paint or makeup. Permission to wear costumes or clothes in silly combinations is encouraged!

While each session is thoroughly planned, there is space for the group to help shape the material. Just as is the case with Storycamp's in-person camps, this program is child-directed, encouraging children to incorporate their interests, inspirations, and concerns into the projects. A few activities may require parental supervision.
